Reverberation chamber accessories

   

The obvious and most important modules of a reverberation chamber are RF shielded panels, RF shielded doors and stirrer systems. On top of that the following key accessoires are used to tailor the EMC test facility to each individual requirement:

 

Honeycomb

Various standard dimensions are available to meet different air ventilation requirements.


Wall entry panel

Wall entry panels are used for mounting connectors and waveguide feedthroughs for FO cables, connectors or gas.
 

RF connectors

RF connectors are used to ensure good RF shielded feed through of various cables for communication purposes with test equipment or equipment under test (EUT) / devise under test (DUT).
 

Mains power line filters

The power-line filters attenuate interference in the form of conducted emissions from the power mains. They will also limit the radiated emissions in a properly RF shielded system.
            

Data and signal line filters

These low-pass filters have been designed for feed telephone, control and data lines feed through of the shielded wall of an anechoic chamber, reverberation chamber or RF shielded room.
 

Fiber optic ethernet converters

High-speed communication links such as ethernet require a fiber optic converter system to pass through the shielding properly.


Waveguide feedthroughs

A waveguide feed through is required to enter the reverberation chamber, while maintaining its RF shielding effectiveness level.  Waveguide feedthroughs are used for various applications. The most common are to penetrate the shielding of the reverberation room for:
•    Fiber optic cables
•    Liquids
•    Exhaust smoke

 

EMC test chamber lights

The Comtest test chamber lights have been designed for  effective illumination of reverberation chambers. These special EMC cold lights have an average life time of 10.000 hrs.
 

CC-TV

A CC-TV system is an ideal system to observe the EUT behavior during EMC testing. The system consists of remote controlled color camera including a color monitor and control keyboard.
 

Stirrer systems

Comtest reverberation chamber models vary for each Lowest Usable Frequency (LUF). To obtain the best possible results with the stirrer versus chamber dimension Comtest is using different stirrer designs.

Reverberation chamber model 1716-0080 is designed with an oscillating wall stirrer. This innovative stirrer design is invented by Comtest R&D department and is a patented design. The new and innovative stirrer design achieves higher field strengths and a larger test volume inside the reverberation room.

Reverberation chamber model model 1716-0200 is designed with an asymmetric 2-pole Z-fold stirrer system. The Z-fold stirrer is vertically mounted in the reverberation chamber.

Reverberation chamber model 1716-0400 and1716-1000 are designed with an asymmetric pedal stirrer system. The pedal stirrer is vertically mounted in the reverberation room and is mounted to the roof only leaving the floor of the reverberation box free for the EUT.
 

Software for stirrer systems

All Comtest stirrer systems are compatible with software by Nexio, Teseq and Rohde & Schwarz. The stirrer systems can be controlled using a standard office PC or lab top.
